PROFILE

Roger Rose has over 30 years of experience in early music as a maker, teacher and researcher.

Originally trained in the keyboard department of Arnold Dolmestch Ltd, Roger soon found his passion lay in early stringed instruments and ran the company's stringed department for seven years.

Having then taught at the London College of Furniture's musical instrument technology department and at West Dean College in Sussex, Roger has accessed and documented many of the original Baroque and Renaissance viols in private and museum collections throughout the world.

Roger has recreated a number of early
instruments where complete originals are lost. He is
also advisor to several museum collections and trusts.
